Here is a Pong console from 1977, it is an earlier version of the Conic TV Sports 406 Pong console which is also in the museum, and like most Pong consoles of the time, this is a rebranded console and another version was the Quatro DX-503
It is a typical black and white four game console made in Hong Kong that is powered by the common General Instruments AY-3-8500 IC
Like the Conic the Plustron features two detachable controllers that can be stored in the rear of the unit along with the RF lead

I have the box although it is in a poor condition

The console view from above, featuring a raised storage area, six switches for power and game options which are sound, ball speed and angle, bat size, and finally auto or manual serve along with the two buttons for manual serve and reset
The two controller sockets with the silver player badge covering the holes where the pistol sockets would be
An oval speaker grill and a game selection slide switch completes the consoles controls

The base of the console features the model label and battery compartment, the seller had put new batteries in for me as well, although there are some signs of leakage from previous batteries

On one of the sides is the external power socket

Here are the controllers which are similar to other Pong consoles from the era

I have the original warranty card with the date of purchase, the 29th of December in 1977, this was a Thursday. The card suggests the company responsible for warranty claims was Interserve LTD in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire
I tried looking them up, but they don't seem to exist and neither does the post code

Ready to play

And finally, the typical for the era, moulded RF plug
