Another tiny box from the Cancer Research Ebay page arrives
This time I knew what to expect as the "mini" in the name gave it away
Look at the box with its exciting artwork showing the four games available
The box from all sides
And the bottom of the box just for completion
The box contents
This is another hand-held console based on the General Instruments AY-3-8500 Pong on a chip IC, which offers four games in vibrant black and white These are Tennis, Football/Hockey, Squash, and Training/Practice. The shooting games are omitted
The console is very light on controls and options, there is no bat size, no ball return angle, even no automatic or manual serve. There is only power, game select, and the player controls
Unusually the console runs from a 9V PP3 battery, or the optional mains adaptor, which was sold separately
The only switches on the console
Each player has a dial to control their bat
From the left the cables are, external power, interconnect lead x 2 and RF lead. The interconnect lead is quite short, players would have to sit next to each other to both play
Side profile of each unit
Normal UK Belling-Lee type plug
