Another OPL Optim Sport branded console arrives in the museum, this one is a 1977 OPL Optim Sport Colour TV Game Centre Model 15
This console appears to have been manufactured by a company called Alltronic and appears under other brands and model numbers
It uses the common General Instruments AY-3-8500 IC and features six games using the controllers and included pistol
I have the original box which is not in the best condition
Here is a closeup of the label stuck on the box
The console features a raised back for the speaker and model labels
On the central lower part is the game option switches and dial to select games, along with a large game reset button, the option switches are Range, Speed, Size, and Power
The six games are Tennis, Hockey, Practice, Squash, Target, and Skeet
The controllers fit into the console and have their own cable storage. It is quite difficult to refit the controllers back into the console. But they both have a serve button at least
The base of the console has the battery compartment and model label. The foam has not disintergrated like some other consoles have
The six C batteries fit in the compartment in groups of three facing the same way which is unusual for this time
The rear of the console has the TV lead, gun connnection using a DIN socket, and external power
The sides are mostly the controllers which slide in and out sideways and are held in by a tab on the controller which slides under a tab on the console
The controllers are connected by a cable which is hardwired to the console
I have the original power supply which has a very short cable to the mains plug
I also have the gun
The branding is Lincon Target Special SN 723233
And I have the instruction book
And finally the moulded RF plug which is typical for the era
