I had only just introduced the Grandstand TV Game 2000 into the museum, and had stated the Gamatic 7600 was an identical clone of that console amongst others
Well what turns up on Vinted? That very console
The Gamatic 7600 was released in 1976 and is identical (apart from the metal name plate which was silver) to the Grandstand model mentioned above, it has the same Texas Instruments TMS-1965 IC running the show which offers four games, which are Hockey, Squash, Tennis, and Practice
Hockey was renamed Football on the Grandstand, but in practice it's the same game
The options should be familiar to anyone who follows the museum's Pong console collecting adventures. In that we have power, ball speed, auto serve, game selector, ball return angle, and bat size available to the players
The controllers offer a dial to move the on-screen bat, and a button, the left player can serve the ball if auto serve is disabled, and the right player can reset the game
There is an attempt to hold on to the controllers when they are placed in the console, but it's not very good
The base of the unit houses the batteries and model label
Battery compartment, model label, and power consumption details, 360 mWATT at 9V DC
Side views, the coiled cables are not that long
Front and back views
The rear of the console has the RF out, horizontal hold, and external power socket
Ready to play
Always end on a plug
