Hot on the heels of the "Light Sixer" I picked up for the museum recently is the later "Vader" variant
So called because the console is all black. Although it was never an official name, the model number actually is CX-2600 AP and was made in Ireland, and was the first model to use the 2600 branding after the 5200 was released
This version is a further cost reduced model from the original heavy sixer to the light sixer which is in the museum, this model was the first to use only one PCB rather than the dual PCB's connected by a ribbon cable and also some small improvements to the circuitry than in the earlier versions
The two difficulty switches have been moved to the rear of the console so only four switches remain on the front panel along with the cartridge slot
You may notice the font on this version is all UPPERCASE whereas on the earlier six switch versions it was all lowercase
The base looks similar to the previous version except for the channel select switch which is no longer on the base
There's a bit more going on here with the two difficulty switches as well as the controller sockets and external power, which have been moved higher up the rear panel of the console, and have embossed text to show what each port or switch is for
The channel switch has been moved to the rear of the console, but was never used in Europe, on some devices, not just Atari, it was used as a sound carrier switch, either PAL-I or PAL-BG for example
You may have noticed this console has been composite modded
Instead of woodgrain we now have an all black front panel with Atari logo and 2600 branding all in white
It has the same side profile as the earlier version
Here is the power supply I got with the console, I don't think it's the original one and I do have another one of these somewhere
I only got the one controller

This is the TV lead that was included
Also the removed parts from the composite mod were included so the console can be put back to it's original condition
Which includes an RF lead, obviously not the original
