I have been wanting a Gamecube for a while, a long while, and now I finally got one. Nice!
This is one of the first generation models (DOL-001) from 2001 (NTSC) or 2002 (PAL), there was a later model (DOL-101) released in 2004, the first model could use digital component video cables which supported progressive scan, and it featured a second serial port, the later version had firmware which blocked the Action Replay cheat codes, and had an improved, but somewhat unreliable laser
My console is black, it's smaller than you would expect, and the game discs are physically smaller at 8CM rather than the standard 12CM, but like the previous N64 it has four controller ports, in addition to that are two memory card slots, and a sticker at the lower right proclaiming "Graphics by ATI"
There are three buttons on top surrounding the disc tray, The grey button is a power toggle switch, underneath that is the reset button, and to the right is the button to open the disc tray
There is a vent on each side, the fan is on the left side
On the back are three ports, one for power, one for analog av out, and another for digital av out
Finally, on the bottom are three covered ports, labelled hi speed port, and serial ports 1 and 2
I have the instruction book
I have one matching controller
Here is the PSU, later versions had a slightly higher rated unit
I have the standard composite + stereo audio av lead
I also have the box, here is the front and back
Both sides
Top and bottom
It works perfectly, now I just need some games...
Updates, I was donated another Gamecube complete with games
This Gamecube is blue and works perfectly, it is the same version as the one above
