Here is my PSone, I have the original PlayStation as well
This is the revised version of the PlayStation, which was smaller, lighter, had reduced buttons and ports, and was more power efficient than the original.
The top of the console has omitted the separate reset button, but still has the toggle power and disc tray release. The bottom just has the labels
The front of the console has the same two controller ports and two memory card slots as the original. The rear has the same AV multi out, but has a socket for an external PSU, which is typically Sony and has an odd voltage (7.5V), you may notice the serial and parallel ports are not there.
There are also two holes to attach the portable LCD screen
The PSone doesn't have a internal power supply, so you have to use an external one, and it uses the same video cables as the original
These are the same memory cards and controller as I used for the original PlayStation
The boot screens are slightly tweaked versions of the original PlayStation
Here I've loaded up Crash Bandicoot and Monopoly to test the console
Who remembers when game discs were black?
This didn't change the disc, the laser could read the disc the same as if it was silver, it was just cosmetic
Update
I found another PSone at a car boot sale for £5
It's untested at them moment as I need to find my original one and use the PSU and video cables
