Here we have the original Radofin version of the 1292 Advanced Programmable Video System game console which was released in 1979
There were many clones of this console from companies such as Acetronic, Prinztronic, Voltmace, and Grandstand, some of which are already in the museum
The console uses a Signetics 2650 running at 0.8MHz and had 43 bytes of RAM. The console could use ROM cartridges from 2KB to 8KB in size.
All the different clones are hardware compatible with each other, and can use the same cartridges, although some of them used different cartridge shell sizes which meant an adaptor was required
The console features a power switch with three option buttons, and a cartridge slot which is behind spring loaded doors
A toggle power switch with the three options Reset, Select, and Start, and the cartridge slot behind the doors
The base of the console with model label, patent information, and sound control
Close-ups of the aformentioned items
The rear of the console with the hardwired controller and RF leads, and the power socket
The controllers have a non centering stick, one of which has a broken plastic handle, and 14 buttons. Games would include overlays to show the player what the buttons were for
The console looks nice
