Another Vinted find, it's from everyone's favourite cheap knock-off manufacturer, Orb Gaming
But before we take a look, here's the listing that really sold it to me
It made me want to buy it immediatly, so I did
Obviously this is styled on the Nintendo Famicom, and even though it has a cartridge slot for a cartridge of all things, I doubt any other cartridges were available, so I'm classing this as a Plug and Play console
I don't have this version of the Famicom to compare it to, but I expect it's not that accurate if the other Nintendo clones are anything to go by. Surprisingly this appears to be sold by Debenhams, which is a UK based department store, I wouldn't have expected that
As well as a cartridge slot it also has a latching power button and a reset button
The controllers are hardwired and don't weigh anything, they feature a D-Pad and four action buttons along with start and select buttons. Only controller one works in the menu
Close-up of the front and back of controller two
The rear of the console with its hardwired controller leads, and the power and video sockets
The sides of the console showing the controller storage area, the controllers will do their utmost best to fall out all the time
The cartridge, it has different games on each side, I'm not typing them out
The composite video and stereo audio lead
Power adaptor, 6vdc, 150mA
Switching on with no cartridge installed gets you a white screen with artifacts
Intrestingly the cartridge can go in the console both ways around, I guessed right the first time and was rewarded with 401 real games. Some of the games look very familiar, the rest not so much
Putting it in backwards gets you the same white screen as before
Anyway I went through all 401 games which was an frustrating experience and I'm disappointed to report that I could not find "Police Dog Lasy" anywhere, so here's PacLand by Namcot instead!
