I spotted this on Ebay for £15, obviously I had to buy it immediately
It's a C64 recreated in FPGA and housed in a Zipstick style joystick, it has headers on the board for a C64 keyboard and a 1541 disk drive. This console is very hackable, it is also loaded to the brim with Easter eggs, including tons of hidden software, games, demos, and the full BASIC mode
Video and audio RCA plugs at the end of a very long lead
Side profile and base
Extra buttons and power switch/LED
It takes four AA batteries
Power LED on
The boot screens, nice to see the chicken head logo again
The menu loading, this is probably an animation.
LOAD"*",8,1
These are the games most users will see
They all play as expected
If you wobble the stick side to side quickly as the device is booting it loads a different menu
LOAD"$",8,1
You can pick what to load, including the BASIC option with the joystick and fire button
If you boot to basic and do a directory listing, there's loads to choose from, I had to use the on-screen keyboard to pause the listing
Here are a couple of images which are further Easter eggs, a couple of Commodore legends, and the development team behind the C64DTV
Here is the Entropy demo
This device is awesome!
