I can remember these machines being sold in Asda back in the day, and they were considered to be low spec when brand new
At least you can get access to the RAM and hard disc without taking apart the machine, unlike some Acer's I have
The model label for your amusement
Removing the battery
On the left is the power, Ethernet, VGA, two USB2 ports, and the mic and headphone sockets
On the right is the DVD/CD writer and the Kensington lock
The keyboard and touch-pad. Urgh, an Intel Celeron and Windows Vista!
It's so low-spec it doesn't have a camera above the screen
It didn't come with a PSU, but the PSU from my Acer ES1-512 works, but on switching it on it doesn't boot into Vista, it hangs with a blank screen, so into startup repair we go
After what seemed like twenty-seven hours, but was more like 45 minutes, it boots into the glorious Vista that is Windows
Even my phone camera hates WIndows Vista, but I can tell you it's got an Intel Celeron running at 2.2GHz with 3GB of RAM, so again, Xubuntu it is
