I have two Atari STE's. Back in the day I was team Amiga, but as my Amiga is currently suffering from death from Varta, let's fire up its main rival instead They are both STE's, the STE in these pictures is the cleanest one The joystick and mouse ports are on the bottom in this silly little hole. Seriously, who's idea was this? This one has been repaired at some point in the past, the date on the sticker reads 12/11/90 Around the back on the left side we have a modem, printer, hard and floppy disk ports. On the right there is an RF port for a television and a monitor port, then a power switch and stereo audio out, finally the power lead socket and reset button. The STE has an inbuilt power supply and modulator, unlike the Amiga On the right hand side there is a floppy disk drive, and on the left there are two "enhanced" joystick ports (why not put these underneath?). An expansion port and two MIDI ports Here you can see both STE's, the top one has a missing 7 key, and some paint on the F1 key, the case is in a worse condition than the lower STE.But both machines do boot to GEM. I never got the official Atari mouse, this is the mouse I used on my Amiga back in the day, it has a switch to swap between both machines as the plug was wired differently. Also note the cruiser joystick. Testing the disc drive I wonder what P DEMO 2 could be, lets find out... Right, Ok... A quick head clean with an ancient cleaning disc... And try again... Getting nervous now... I'm going to turn the volume down just in case, I have past experiences with some Amiga discs... Launch application... Looks a bit like Project X on the Amiga... Bugger! I tried this several times and it always failed with the ST bombs, two bombs means "bus" error. Software Here is all the commercial software I have, there are more "blank" disks, but you won't be interested in those... Powermonger Colossus Chess Borodino Shadow Warriors Family Curriculum Play and Learn Module ST Basic Street Fighter II Blood Money Wizball Various loose disks Screen shots of various software. Medway Boys, that takes me back... Back in the day us Amiga owners would look down on Atari ST owners as we thought the machines were inferior, however the games I tried were just as good as what I remember the Amiga being. And both these STE's still work, unlike the Amiga! ?VERIFY ERROR
