But it's the colour of a ZX Spectrum!!!
Other than the colour, the included games, and swapping out the micro USB socket for USB C, this is the same as the beige The C64 Mini I already have
There's rumours this was going to be a The C16 Mini which would have been cool, but Retro Games changed their minds and made it a special edition The C64 Mini instead
The box is very similar to the original C64 Mini box, just changing the colours and adding some sprite graphics
The console and competition pro style joystick in the box, and we finally have microswitches now
The red highlights have been replaced by grey
User manuals, and the included HDMI and USB cables
The C64 Mini itself, it looks great in black, very much like a C16 but with black keys
Breadbin vibes
Still only two USB ports available, and a momentary power button. It still turns on when power is applied though
HDMI and USB C is all you get on the back
Enough yakking, lets boot it up...
The carousel we are already familiar with contains 25 games and they are all fairly recent releases and are A Pig Quest, Caren and the Tangled Tentacles, Galencia, Good Kniight, Grid Pix, Guns 'N' Ghosts, Hessian, Hunter's Moon Remastered, It's Magic 2, Joe Gunn: Gold Edition, Knight 'N' Grail, Metal Warrior Ultra, Millie & Molly, Nixy and the Seeds of Doom, Ooze: The Escape, P0 Snake, Pains 'N' Aches, Planet Golf, Rocky Memphis: The Legend of Atlantis, Runn 'N' Gunn, Sam's Journey, Shadow Switcher, Spinning Image, Steel Ranger, Yeti Mountain
The menu is all shades af grey rather than the blue colour of the previous version
Legal notices
The firmware version, there doesn't seem to be any option on the Retro Games site for firmware updates yet. They haven't updated the beige version for a good while now, so they may never be an update for the black version
The BASIC screen is still available with the same options
Lets play Sam's Journey...
